Week 2 – 22/1/15

This week at Sciffy:

Being Human – S1E02: George encounters a man named Tully, who turns out to be another werewolf. Tully comes to live in the house for the duration of the episode, and teaches George some ways to control his powers. Everyone gets along with Tully for a while, until it turns out that he’s very creepy and is actually the werewolf that turned George in the first place. Mitchell makes an attempt to get to know the rest of the people in the street and Lauren tries to tempt him back into the blood-drinking lifestyle.

Star Trek: The Next Generation – S1E01 “Encounter at Farpoint” (second half): The crew explores Farpoint a bit. They discover some tunnels underneath, and Deanna Troi feels pain, loneliness and a terrible despair. A strange ship appears and begins firing on the old Bandi city near Farpoint. Q appears in the Enterprise to annoy Picard, and the crew abducts Groppler Zorn to find out what’s going on. It turns out that the strange ship is actually some sort of space jellyfish. Farpoint has been harvesting the energy-matter conversion powers of this jellyfish’s mate, and that’s why things can appear so suddenly on Farpoint. Picard helps the other jellyfish escape and the pair fly off into space. Also in this episode: Wesley has fun on the bridge and there is romantic tension between Troi and Riker.

Avatar: The Last Airbender – S1E02 “The Avatar Returns”: Sokka banishes Aang from the village and begins to prepare for the Fire Nation attack. Zuko arrives and has a brief fight with Sokka, before Aang shows up to save the day. Aang volunteers to go with Zuko in order to save the village. On the Fire Nation ship, Aang uses his airbending to fight Zuko and the soldiers before being rescued by Sokka and Katara who are flying on Appa. They then decide that they’re going to fly to the North Pole so that Aang and Katara can learn waterbending.
